Welcome to my groove

Just as Laurent Garnier welcomes you on Flashback, I’m welcoming you to my humble page. This is the story of how I got into DJ’ing and what keeps me behind the decks to this day. You can find my SoundCloud below and follow me on Instagram for updates and flasbacks.

FLRS Amsterdam based producer & DJ

It’s 1995. Some tunes keep looping in my head. Tracks you don’t hear on the radio. Tracks you can’t find on CD. A friend told me they were probably only available on vinyl. So I went to Outland Records in Amsterdam and came back with a handful of records. The moment I played them, I was right back in those dark clubs with sweat on the walls.

After collecting a few records, I borrowed my uncle’s turntable. Now I had two—different ones—but both with pitch control. It was 1996 when I made my first mix. Recording mixtapes for friends and for myself (just to hear those elusive tracks again) became my new obsession. It fueled my hunger for more records. Every Saturday I’d make my rounds: Midnight Records, Rhythm Import, Outland, Killa Cutz, Rush Hour… My collection grew, and so did the gigs. From a friend’s party to a friend-of-a-friend’s, soon I was DJ’ing in small clubs and pubs.

I still DJ today, and I still buy records—both vinyl and digital. I love blending my own tracks and loops into my sets, shaping the arrangement, vibe and climax in real time. It’s also the perfect way to test if a new production truly stands out and still blends in.
